I think that the speech therapist should ask Jason's opinion when they go to OT because Jason thinks that she is to loud and he was able to tell Catherine that he can hear fine but I don't think that the speech therapist understands. I think that the speech therapist should make more of an effort. Don't ya think?

I agree with you Sarah that the speech therapist should make more of an effort to understand Jason. She asumes that because he can't talk that he can't hear, and that is very offending.

ReplyDeleteWhat a powerful observation! It is amazing to think that someone that is working as an occupational therapist is perhaps treating Jason in stereotypical ways. How do you think this makes Jason feel about the OT sessions? What about David and his sessions?

Ya! I also think that Jason should actually tell the speech therapist that she doesn't have to talk that loud because how would she know that Jason could hear fine (even though she should)?
