popularity (continuation of Tess's post)
I don't think Catherine want's to be popular I think she doesn't want people to think about her to much to think 'she is not popular' I just thinks she wants to pass as an average girl but that is hard with david around. I don't think she is popular because she says "she doesn't look like a flashlights-Morse-code kid" and as Catherine says earlier those are not popular things to do. She also thinks that Kristi will pass as popular but she doesn't have a problem with that. my point is that I think that Catherines main goal in life would be to pass as any other person. What do you think Catherine's goal is in life

I think Catherine just wants to have "normal" friends and wants attention to be drawn to her because of who she is not that david has autism. in the story it says "It's incomplete to much like a secret" and this quote happens when she is talking about Jason's portrait but she might feel this way about how she could feel this way about her life. I realized that Catherine might crave to have a normal life because Ryan makes fun of david and she gets embarressed by him. If Catherine had a normal brother she might feel to ordinary and boring.

ReplyDeleteInteresting does she want to be popular, just normal, (what is normal?), would it be bad to be ordinary or is there something special to having developed relationships with people that see the world in a different way. These are difficult questions and as Katherine grows up she may change her opinion? What do you think Catherine will learn by the end of the book? How will this change her and the people around her?
