End of Rules

I am just saying that I did not enjoy the ending. I don't know why It just didn't appeal to me. The quote "Kneeling beside  David our arms touching, our faces reflect side by side, in the glass.I let that be enough" I didn't understand it and I was wondering if we could discuss it in our meeting

  1. I felt that the ending represented her accepting who David is and accepting that he would have that for the rest of his life, but if they worked hard they could make it slightly better for him. on page 182 she expresses her feeling to him. ""when someone is upset ,it's not a good time to bring up your own problems!" I scream back "Why don't you understand? No toys in the fish tank! Chew with your mouth closed! Don't open or close doors at other peoples houses!" That quote shows years and years of pent up aggression to david and things that she may not understand about herself. I think that she didn't realize how much anger and thoughts she had torwards him and his dissabilities.

  2. I didn't really like the last chapter but I understand what it was supposed to represent. I feel that the ending just seemed to abrupt and I feel it should've been a little more gradual. I understand that Catherine finally accepted David but the quote you had said makes no sense. What is it enough of? I realized that Catherine finally accepted the fact that life isn't fair and moved on but the way she describes that being enough doesn't make much sense to me.

  3. There are kind-of two parts of the ending: Jason and Catherine dancing, and when Catherine goes home and she's with David.
I liked the part when they danced and I don't really understand the part when she's talking with David.
